1. Selection of the instrument

  • The selection is made personally, not automatically.
  • Criteria:
    • Level of education
    • musical requirements
    • sonic ideas
    • financial framework
  • The goal is a suitable instrument, not a short-term change.

2. Rental period

  • Minimum rental period: usually 3–6 months
  • Long-term tenancies are expressly desired.
  • The instrument can be used for years, provided both parties agree.

3. Rental costs

  • The monthly rent is determined individually.

4. Deposit

  • A security deposit is usually required.

5. Duty of care

The tenant agrees to:

  • to handle the instrument with care
  • to use it exclusively for oneself
  • No alterations or repairs should be made without consent.
  • not to pass it on to third parties

6. Damages & Insurance

  • Normal signs of wear and tear are covered.
  • Damage must be reported immediately.
  • Negligent or improper use may result in cost sharing.

7. Rückgabe & Wechsel

  • Rückgabe nach vorheriger Terminabsprache.
  • Ein Instrumentenwechsel ist möglich, aber nicht garantiert.

1. Basic principle

ARTES fine rentals vermittelt hochwertige Streichinstrumente aus Privatbesitz an geeignete Musikerinnen und Musiker zur Miete. Ziel ist eine nachhaltige Nutzung, die sowohl dem Instrument als auch dem Musiker gerecht wird.

2. Selection & Recording

  • Each instrument is personally inspected before recording.
  • The following are required:
    • unambiguous provenance
    • recognized condition report
    • current insurance valuation
  • ARTES reserves the right to reject instruments that do not meet quality or safety standards.

3. Rental model & returns

  • The monthly rent is determined individually (instrument, market, target group).
  • The rental income is split between the owner and ARTES fine rentals.
  • ARTES erhält einen Anteil zur Deckung von:
    • Administration
    • Betreuung
    • Vermittlung
    • organisatorischem Aufwand

(Specific percentages will be agreed upon individually.)

4. Support and maintenance

  • Instruments are checked regularly.
  • Maintenance, setup and minor adjustments will be carried out by arrangement.
  • Major repairs will only be carried out after consultation with the owner.

5. Insurance and Liability

  • Each instrument is insured during the rental period.
  • The sum insured corresponds to the current valuation.
  • Damages are documented and handled transparently.

6. Duration & Return

  • Rental agreements are generally long-term.
  • Notice periods are agreed upon individually.
  • Returns are possible at any time by prior arrangement.
